WHAT EXACTLY IS HYPNOSIS?

Hypnosis is a state of focused awareness. It is a process that allows a person’s conscious mind and subconscious mind to believe in the same message.When you’re under hypnosis, you usually feel calm and relaxed, and you can concentrate intensely on a specific thought, memory, feeling or sensation while blocking out distractions.

What happens during the process?

A hypnotherapist serves as a guide to assist you in discovering the root cause that triggers a specific behavior. Once the cause is healed, released or neutralized, you can then change that behavior.

My practice of hypnotherapy in Richmond VA includes the use of Neuro-Linguistic Programming – which is a super fancy way of saying “the way our words affect our subconscious thoughts”.  By paying attention and altering the way we communicate with ourselves and with others, we may choose what we want to manifest in our life. Although you’re more open to suggestion during therapeutic hypnosis, your free will remains intact and you don’t lose control over your behavior.
